What are psychiatric services?

Psychiatric services focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other behavioral health concerns. At Novak Health and Wellness, psychiatric care may include:

  • Initial psychiatric evaluations- Comprehensive assessment of mental health history, current symptoms, and treatment needs.
  • Medication management – Prescribing and monitoring medications to help manage mental health conditions.
  • Therapy and counseling– Individual, group, or family therapy sessions to provide coping strategies and emotional support
  • Crisis intervention and referrals – Assistance during mental health emergencies and referrals to inpatient or intensive outpatient programs when needed
What is primary care?

Primary care is your first point of contact for health needs and serves as your medical home. Your provider at Novak Health and Wellness can diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, provide preventive care, and refer you to our specialists if needed.

What types of providers offer primary care?

Primary care providers at Novak Health and Wellness include nurse practitioners.

Do I need a primary care provider?

Yes. Your primary care provider gets to know your medical history and helps manage your long-term health, screenings, and preventive care. Every adult benefits from having a medical home.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment online, through your Kareo patient portal, or by calling Novak Health and Wellness at 317-204-7600. You can also send a fax to 317-342-5130 | 949-849-5866 if needed.

What should I bring to my appointment?
  • Photo identification:A valid driver’s license or another form of picture ID.
  • Insurance information:Your current insurance card(s), if applicable.
  • Payment method: A credit card, debit card, or cash for any copays or fees
  • Medication list:A list of any medications you are currently taking, including dosages.
How long is a typical visit?
  • Initial evaluation visitstypically last 60 minutes
  • Follow-up visitsare generally 20 to 30 minutes, though some may be 45 minutes depending on your reason for the visit
Can I get lab work or vaccines at my primary care office?

Novak Health and Wellness offers outpatient lab services and vaccinations through trusted external providers.

Can my primary care provider manage mental health concerns?
Yes. Your primary care provider can diagnose and help manage conditions such as anxiety and depression, provide counseling, and refer you to inpatient behavioral health specialists if needed.
Do you offer virtual visits?

Yes. You can request a virtual visit with your primary care or psychiatric provider during regular office hours. While 24/7 access is not available, next day appointment is often possible during weekdays. Novak Health and Wellness treats patients ages 12 and older located in Indiana.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and most major commercial insurance plans. We also offer payment plans and financial assistance. Copays or fees are typically due at the time of service.

For self-pay patients, visit costs vary depending on the type of service provided. Additional charges may apply for laboratory tests, imaging, or other services when applicable. Manage your billing through your Kareo patient portal, or contact us at 317-204-7600 for assistance.
